We're a seasonal business and operate between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend (May 24, 2025 to September 2, 2025).

Beach setups are available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (6 hours).

If you're a larger group and would like to use our service outside the posted days/hours, please call us.

Two Options:

1. Take the Coronado Ferry from downtown (2 departure points) to the island and then take the bus or an Uber from the Ferry Landing to the beach (3 miles).

2. Take an Uber to the beach (7 miles from downtown)

We recommend taking the ferry if you can. It's fun and provides some great views of the San Diego skyline.

Immediately after making your online reservation, you'll receive an email that confirms the date(s) and beach package(s) you selected along with directions and parking suggestions.

Our system will send a series of reminders as your reservation date approaches. On that date, your Butler will set up your beach package in a prime spot by 10:00 am sharp.

When you arrive, they’ll show you to your location, verify you have everything you reserved and answer any questions. They'll also give you their card so you can call if you run into any issues.

At the end of the day (or whenever you request), your Beach Butler will return, take a few photos, give you a receipt acknowledging the return of all rented equipment and then you're on your way.

We set up to the right of the Central Beach Lifeguard Tower. This ensures you're close the watchful eyes of Coronado's famous lifeguards as well as the restrooms and showers.

This is also the location your food will be delivered to if you request a deli delivery.

Yes. We set your beach package up near the Central Beach Lifeguard Tower. There are restrooms and showers just behind that facility.

Coronado Beach runs along Ocean Avenue and street parking is free all day. If you arrive by 10:00 am, when your setup is available, you should be able to get a spot (handicap spots are also available).

If you arrive later, you may have to park on Isabella street, which is also free. If a member of your party needs assistance, there is a loading zone on Ocean Avenue near the stairs behind the lifeguard tower.

All payments must made at the time of reservation through our online reservation system. We're unable to accept credit/debit cards or cash at the beach.

All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the day of your reservation. For example, if your reservation is on Saturday, we need to be notified by 10:00 am on Friday. We’re very busy during the summer season and often have to turn business away. 24 hours gives us a chance to call interested people back and re-book your reservation. Cancellations made with less than a 24 hour notice may be subject to a $25 fee.

During peak beach months (May – September), San Diego averages .078 inches of rain per month so this is rarely an issue. If rain is forecasted for your reservation day, you have the option of canceling.

Your beach set up is available from 10am to 4pm but you can arrive and leave anytime you want. Just call your Beach Butler and they’ll arrange to meet you at the appropriate time.

The easiest way to handle this is to make another online reservation for the additional people in your group. If there's no space available for that particular day, please call us and we'll make it happen for you.

No problem. Please call us at least 1 hour before your reservation is scheduled to end (4:00 pm). We charge $30 per hour for each hour after the initial 6 hours (10:00 am - 4:00pm).

With the exception of ice and water, you're renting everything we set up for you and it must be returned at the end of the day.

We understand that from time to time things get damaged or lost. While you are liable for any loss or damage not considered “normal wear and tear”, we don’t like to assess charges unless it’s a very clear case of abuse or negligence. In these rare cases, we charge a reasonable fee. We’re not looking to nitpick or gouge our customers – we want you back and we want you to recommend us to your friends & family.

Yes, however groups of more than 25 people require city permitting so please contact us as soon as possible to discuss.

No. You’re paying us to rent and set up a beach package for you so there’s no need to tip them. We don’t want that awkward feeling of obligation at the end of the day or the pressure of trying to figure out how much is appropriate. We take good care of our Butlers and they’re well compensated for their efforts.

Beach Butlers is a family owned & operated business. We love the beach and decided it would be fun to create a business that allows vacationers, visitors and locals to spend a day at the beach with all the amenities and none of the work.

Yes and we encourage you to do so! The Hotel Del Coronado is world famous and has a very rich and interesting history. It's a short walk from your beach setup and there's a lot to see and do. Shirts and shoes are required (flip flops are OK).
